Weekly Update

This week we have started using math buckets to make different patterns. We have been talking about how patterns are made of the same sets of objects that repeat over and over. All the objects are the same in each group, and all the groups match. Any different objects do not belong in the pattern.  We have also put our matching mittens up in the hallway.

In Language Art we have been reviewing the letters and sounds we have learned so far. We are also trying to figure out how to put our Alphabet Tree together in the hallway.
We have made some fabulous plans, drew pictures in our visual journals, and are excited to see our project come together.

On February 12 we will be exchanging Valentines.

Children can exchange cards if they wish to do so. We will be talking about celebrating friendships and the people we treasure. If you wish to send Valentines please do not address cards to specific children as it would be extremely difficult to place the cards in the right Valentine bags during a group activity. Just address them to “my friend” and help your child to sign the cards. This is a great opportunity for your child to practice writing skills.
